They say that every cloud has a silver lining. This is true…..however,
to see that lining, you must stare at the cloud long enough in its face! Last
time, I was looking at the storm clouds gathering in the sky and wanted to find
that silver lining that people talk about. In the process, I found that I had
to stare at the clouds quite a bit and indeed, I could spot that hint of silver
peeking out.
This led me to realise that life too, is the same. Problems
and challenges appear as clouds and in order to be able to spot the underlying
goodness, we need to look at the challenges in their face. Running away is an
option readily available, but challenges do not disappear if you look away.
Sometimes it may take every iota of courage you have; but if
one can stand tall and face the challenges head on; the silver lining does not
take long to make an appearance. You see, it is all about perspectives. It is
quite natural to get drowned in the dark fuzziness of the clouds (in this case,
the real life challenges) but if one chooses to raise the realm of their sight
and focus on to something bigger and brighter, that is what inevitably comes to
manifest.
I have learnt this lesson in life: when challenges strike,
face them head on. Go through them willingly, no matter how excruciating it
might seem while all that time keeping your eyes focussed on the real goals. It
may sound difficult, but trust me; once you learn to play with your focus in
life (just like changing your camera focus from auto to full on manual mode!!)
and maintain your focus at will, nothing whatsoever can deter you.
